Do i need installshield
Click here and get The Ask Leo! Recently, I did a scan with Autoruns from Microsoft Sysinternals to see what I was loading at log on. I do not remember seeing it before so I did a search — and answers at Microsoft. Have you seen this? What is it? What software does it update?
Where did it come from? Do I need it? Can I safely remove it without leaving my software vulnerable? In fact, most people have probably already used its software at one point or another. Become a Patron of Ask Leo! I think even some Microsoft programs have used InstallShield in the past. What is it for? And is it essential for the proper operation of Windows XP? Installshield itself is used by many apps in their installation. Installshield update manager is not essential for the proper running of Windows XP.
As I said, the installshield update manager is used by some apps to manage their automatic and manual check for updates. Did you find out which software installshield update manager is managing? No, but I downloaded your suggested uninstall file and it worked flawlessly, no more "Program Updates" manager from Installshield in Control Panel. I do all my updates manually always, so no problem.

Please close uninstall Shield and restart setup. Error I've searched for uninstallshield and I can't find anything. Task manager doesn't have anything running with that name.. Anyone have an idea on how to stop a service I can't find? I don't know a thing about Uninstall Shield. If you do a normal shutdown, the computer should finish and close all running task.
